Descriptive Writing: Secondary 2 Field Trip at BSB Lake

  • JOSEPHINE ALLEGRA BUDIMAN - SECONDARY 2 SHAKESPEARE

A swift and airy breeze flitted through the narrow arches of the graceful willow trees, arms held up in a graceful pose. Sunlight streamed through its curved branches illuminating the pavement in shades of gold. The ground felt warm under the sun's gentle touch, the supple fragrance of morning dew filling the air with a sense of drowsiness.

Across the pathway sat a plethora of plump canary-yellow grass flowers, scattered lazily over the inky green grass.

The flowers teemed with life and vitality, sparkling sunlit dewdrops perched on their creamy petals, nature's crowning jewel. Occasionally, the springy chattering of cicadas would fill the quiet bushes with bustle.

Below the bushes and trees the vast lake seemed to stretch on forever. As the wind blew kisses to the skyline, quiet ripples emerged and breathed life into the surface of the water. The water

eluded warmth and comfort, barely making a sound, save for a few fish leaping joyously,

    occasionally breaking the surface.

Past the lake and the lush trees lay the rolling plains that covered all land as far as the eye could see. Crystal clear was the cerulean sky, dotted with picturesque fluffy clouds in shades of creamy white.

Towards the far right, a thicket of tall, imposing rubber trees coated the elysian fields in a swath of forest green.
