Books introduce children to different worlds of imagination.  It is through the pages of storybooks that children can learn to make connections and understand the world around them. It also gives the opportunity for children to develop a rich vocabulary that also contributes to their language skills. Books also pave the way for children to identify and relate with the characters in the story. 

Through our Book Character day, our preschoolers and teachers transformed into their beloved book characters. From swashbuckling knights and ninjas, magical fairies and wizards, every child came dressed as a character from their favourite storybook. They also brought along the books that featured their chosen character to school. We are very happy to see these little bookworms showing their books to one another in class.

Parents also partnered with us in celebration of books. They joined us during the week to read and tell stories to their child’s class. They even prepared activities based on the theme and characters of the book that they read.

Indeed, celebrating this wonderful event encourages children to read and leap into different worlds where they can meet magical, comical, and funny characters. Books do take us everywhere!
