Christmas in Our Hearts 2019

Christmas in Our Hearts

Christmas is a well-known Christian festival but it is celebrated the world over and famed for its decorations and Santa Clause. The word ‘Christmas’ means “Feast day of Christ”. It is a yearly celebration marking the birth of Jesus Christ.

Christmas is the season where we find love in our hearts at its very peak. It is the time when we share our blessings with others in the most joyous ways. We humbly extend our care as we remember the birth of Jesus Christ in a manger. We feel grateful to Christ for coming to the Earth to redeem us.

What better way to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ than with songs, worship and service! BBS PIK Primary students and teachers gathered as one to celebrate Yuletide on 13th December 2019. A Christmas service was
rendered where selected students sang worship songs melodiously. This was followed by a puppet show and the programme concluded with an altar call. Students then proceeded to their respective classrooms for their class party and waited for their special guests to arrive. As what has been the custom, members of the administration and non-teaching committee were invited to enjoy the celebration with the students.

It was such a joy to see our pupils dress up in Christmas colours, sing, laugh and feel the Christmas spirit by giving and serving!

Christmas reminds us of the importance of giving and sharing with friends and family. Through Christmas, we know that the birth of Jesus is the beginning of great things in the world. It is generally an opportunity to think about nature and the reason for our existence. Christmas is such a festival which people from all religions and faith celebrate worldwide despite it being a Christian festival. It is the essence of this festival which unites the people so much.

Postcards with Blessings

Christmas in Bina Bangsa School is always about the joy of giving. In line with this, the Bina Bangsa Photography Club members sold postcards to students on 7th November 2019. This was done to raise funds for buying daily necessities for the janitors and security guards.

The Photography Club teachers came up with the idea of making postcards from the landscape pictures that members of the club had taken. The response of the students during the event was highly positive. Some students gave a huge amount of money for a postcard and some even gave money without taking any postcards.

There were many options for utilising the postcard once it was purchased. The postcard could be kept by the customers or the buyer could send messages to their friends and family members. They could sent these postcards to their friends in school, too. The Photography Club members or teachers would then deliver the postcards to the concerned.

“This event is amazing. I didn’t know we could do such a thing,” stated Jesslyn, a photography member of the Photography Club.

“I would like to request a postcard for Ms Christly, please,” said Kate, a friend of Erica.

The Photography Club said that they were thankful for the support the students and teachers had given them.  The club members expressed their gratitude to everyone who had participated in this activity. Indeed, these postcards were true blessings!
