Media Team Presents: Term 1 2020-2021

BBS PIK PRIMARY COMIC STRIPS CONTEST

As part of the lifelong learning, our teachers always encourage BBS PIK Primary students to try and pick up a new skill that is relevant to their specialties. Especially, during this pandemic time, we want to motivate our students to be involved in an interesting and unique activity that can boost their confidence and pride. The Media team persuaded our students to show their writing skills and creativity in a form of “Comic Strips” contest.

Seeing P3-6 students best efforts and initiative was a great time to remember. We could feel their sense of humor and it was nice to make a delightful environment during pandemic to lessen the stress and burden. After a difficult time to choose, Media Team finally decided the winners of the contest as below:

Postcards with Blessings

Christmas in Bina Bangsa School is always about the joy of giving. In line with this, the Bina Bangsa Photography Club members sold postcards to students on 7th November 2019. This was done to raise funds for buying daily necessities for the janitors and security guards.

The Photography Club teachers came up with the idea of making postcards from the landscape pictures that members of the club had taken. The response of the students during the event was highly positive. Some students gave a huge amount of money for a postcard and some even gave money without taking any postcards.

There were many options for utilising the postcard once it was purchased. The postcard could be kept by the customers or the buyer could send messages to their friends and family members. They could sent these postcards to their friends in school, too. The Photography Club members or teachers would then deliver the postcards to the concerned.

“This event is amazing. I didn’t know we could do such a thing,” stated Jesslyn, a photography member of the Photography Club.

“I would like to request a postcard for Ms Christly, please,” said Kate, a friend of Erica.

The Photography Club said that they were thankful for the support the students and teachers had given them.  The club members expressed their gratitude to everyone who had participated in this activity. Indeed, these postcards were true blessings!

EMPATHY TOWARDS THE SPREAD OF CORONA VIRUS

PIK Primary students expressed their empathy over people who are experiencing this crisis first hand, and what they understand about their social responsibility.

In the midst of the crisis, PIK Primary is making the opportunity to teach our students about the importance of personal hygiene. See what the classes had during their class forum time with their form teachers.
