I wrote and illustrated “Kejutan dari Kebun”, a children’s book about grit and growth in the garden. I also contributed to Indonesia’s National Literacy Movement 2025 under the Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education through “Nara dan Rahasia Nenek Nujum”, a story blending cultural heritage, nature, and early scientific literacy (STEM) for young learners. ~+

  • About Me:

John Ryann F. Gallego is an educator and academic leader with over 19 years of experience. He currently serves as Vice Principal for Academics at St. Benedict Childhood Education Centre in Cebu City and is pursuing a PhD in Education specialzing in Research and Evaluation at the University of San Carlos.

A cum laude graduate of La Salle University and recipient of the St. La Salle Award, he completed his MA in Education major in English with Highest Honors/Distinction and earned the Best Thesis/Paper Award. For the past years in the teaching profession, he has served in various capacities, including English teacher, English Area Head, Vice Principal for Academics, Debate Coach/Moderator, and School Publication Head.

Mr. Gallego has been a national senior trainer for PEAC’s Junior High School INSET and the PEAC K-6 INSET Program consultant, mentoring teachers nationwide in curriculum design and implementation.

Mr. Gallego has also been active in academic research. His earlier work earned international recognition, including a Best Paper Award in Bangkok, publication in an international journal, and a study presented in Japan. Building on these experiences, he is currently engaged in research focusing on curriculum design and alignment in instructional implementation. He also conducts teacher training that leverages AI tools to support research-informed curriculum design and alignment in instructional practice.

Committed to curriculum innovation and teacher development, Mr. Gallego continues to teach alongside his administrative role to remain grounded in classroom practice.

Kiky Amirullah is the Director of Green Camp Bali, a unique and innovative environmental education program for children and adults.

Green Camp Bali is located on the beautiful island of Bali, Indonesia, and offers a variety of programs that educate participants about sustainability, environmental stewardship, and Balinese culture.

Kiky fell in love with nature in her early 20 when she had the opportunity to work on a traditional diving liveaboard in Indonesia where it took her to some of the most amazing ocean in Indonesia. She continued her learning journey in Vancouver, Canada where she fell in love even deeper with the forest and the mountains. This was the drive to her passion in education and the environment.

She has over two decades of experience working specifically in the field of education, and has developed and implemented a variety of successful sustainability programs for children and adults. She is also passionate about permaculture and anything with Bamboo!

Under Kiky’s leadership, Green Camp Bali has become one of the leading environmental education programs in Indonesia and in the world. The camp has been featured in numerous publications and media outlets.

Kiky is very keen at promoting environmental education and sustainability, especially within the Indonesian school community and is working with teachers to try to implement green education into their curriculum.

I am a dedicated science educator with over 15 years of teaching experience across diverse international settings. I began my career in the Philippines, where I taught Physics at Caritas Don Bosco School and De La Salle University for 4.5 years. I then expanded my professional journey in Saudi Arabia, serving as a Physics teacher and Science Coordinator at New Vision International School for 10 years.

Currently, I am working in the United States as a middle school science teacher at Harvest Best Academy (since 2024), where I continue to foster students’ curiosity and understanding of scientific concepts.

My areas of expertise include physics education, curriculum development, and science program coordination.

Outside the classroom, I enjoy traveling and immersing myself in different cultures. These experiences enrich my teaching, as I aim to share global perspectives and insights with my students, helping them develop a broader understanding of the world.

I am an educator based in Singapore with extensive experience in teaching Science across primary, lower secondary, and upper secondary levels, specialising in Physics and Chemistry. Currently, I serve in both teaching and student management capacities, where I oversee student discipline, welfare, and leadership development while delivering curriculum-aligned instruction.

My professional expertise lies in curriculum design, assessment development, and the integration of learning sciences into classroom practice. I have developed schemes of work for Science subjects, designed standardised assessments such as Cambridge Checkpoint and GCE O-Level–aligned papers, and led initiatives to strengthen student leadership and character education. I also have experience mentoring students in research and project-based learning, including guiding teams to achieve recognition at international conferences.

Beyond the classroom, I have contributed to whole-school development through planning emergency preparedness exercises, implementing disciplinary frameworks, and coordinating student leadership programmes. My background also includes experience in youth development and mental well-being from my time with the Health Promotion Board.

I have a strong interest in educational innovation, particularly in the use of AI and learning analytics to enhance student engagement, conceptual understanding, and self-efficacy. My ongoing postgraduate studies focus on designing technology-enhanced learning environments, with research interests in productive failure, metacognition, and adaptive learning systems.
