- Abstract: Our group explored an alternative house plant that can effectively cool down our homes without relying on conventional cooling methods like air conditioners or fans. Based on our research, microalgae, a microorganism, has the ability to absorb carbon dioxide and can generate the same amount of oxygen as traditional house plants. To validate our hypothesis, we conducted experiments using two setups for comparison: one with microalgae and one without. The results confirmed our hypothesis: the setup with microalgae indeed maintained a cooler environment compared to the one without. Microalgae can potentially be a substitute for traditional house plants in providing cooling benefits, reducing energy usage. Since the liquid ‘tree’ is smaller, it allows for more units to be put at home.
