  • Abstract: Marvell, Ethan, and Sam from P5 BBS Malang tested a solar panel charger's efficiency in powering smartphones under varying sunlight conditions. Using three solar panels, a USB step-down module, and wiring tools, they constructed the charger and measured its performance. Results confirmed that more panels increase charging speed, but efficiency depended on sunlight intensity—direct sunlight yielded faster charging. The project highlighted solar energy's potential as a sustainable, cost-effective alternative, aligning with SDG 7 (Affordable and Clean Energy). However, they noted risks like excessive voltage damaging devices, emphasizing the need for voltage regulators. Their findings advocate for solar chargers while balancing practicality and safety.
