BBS Cup 2017 “Opening Ceremony”

Let the Games Begin!

On the 11th of September 2017, Bina Bangsa School Kebon Jeruk Secondary launched the Ethereal Cup. The cup invited schools from all corners of Jakarta to participate in the array of competitions it offered.

By 1 PM, students, teachers and staff flocked to the courtyard for the opening ceremony. While the cup committee were finalizing the registrations, that parade was minutes away from commencing. BBS students welcomed the schools with a roar of applause as they marched their way to the courtyard. Soon after, the national anthem played and all stood in attention.

Head of the Ethereal Cup committee Wahyu Handayani addressed the participants before the microphone was passed onto Mr TJ for his welcome speech and Ms Ami for the opening prayer. Mr TJ and Mr Paulus were directed towards the center of the court to officially open The Cup with the symbolic releasing of the balloons and the lighting of the torch. As confetti and balloons decorated the sky, it was time for some students talent.

The dance team amplified the energy with their performance. The drama club also encouraged the value of sportsmanship with their dance to “We’re All in This Together”. Finally, a traditional “pencak silat” dance closed off the ceremony.
