Meet The SC: The Making of Leaders (AY 25/26)

By: Patricia Holly Setiawan and William Donald Paraffino Lesmana

The Student Council 25–26’s journey began with an exciting and meaningful process designed to shape the next generation of leaders. From the first steps of probation to the much-anticipated leadership camp and official inauguration, each stage brought students closer to becoming compassionate, capable, and community-driven leaders.

The journey began on April 14, 2025, during Term 4 of the previous academic year (AY 24–25). On that day, applications officially opened for the next Student Council, sparking enthusiasm amongst the students. Through a QR code registration system, students submitted their forms and entered a probation period designed to assess their initiative, teamwork, and commitment. During this time, probates were placed in trial departments, allowing them to experience leadership firsthand. New students joining in AY 25–26 were also welcomed to register, participating in a shorter but equally meaningful trial phase.

The highlight of the selection process was the Leadership Camp, held from August 7–9, 2025. Over three days, probates took part in leadership workshops, team challenges, and reflective sessions led by special guests like the Boy Scouts, who instilled values of discipline, resilience, and collaboration. Students also strengthened friendships through interactive group activities, creative poster-making, and the much-loved bonfire night, where laughter, performances, and barbecues filled the air.

At the end of the camp, participants completed reflection forms and submitted their first and second department preferences. Teachers and advisers then evaluated each student’s growth and performance throughout the probation period. On August 12, 2025, the official list of Student Council members and department heads was released, marking the culmination of months of dedication and hard work.

The Student Council Inauguration Ceremony took place on August 16, 2025. The event featured symbolic moments such as the pin-giving, torch-passing, and leadership pledge, officially welcoming the AY 25–26 Student Council into service. It was a moment of pride and celebration, signifying the beginning of a new chapter of leadership at BBS.

From registration to inauguration, the formation of the Student Council 25–26 was a journey of growth, responsibility, and purpose. Each participant emerged transformed through experience, embodying the school’s spirit of leadership and service. The newly inaugurated council now stands ready to lead with integrity, passion, and unity.
