Avior Games Closing Ceremony

Written by Kathleen Gunardi

After a long week of the Avior committee running around fulfilling hectic schedules, lively basketball matches and heated debate competitions, Avior Games 2018 has finally come to an end. On Saturday, 22 September, BBS KJS students and those from other invited schools gathered to play in the finals, enjoy the fun fair and of course, participate in the long-awaited closing ceremony with special guest star performances.

Thanks to the hard work of the committee, Avior Games was able to invite local Indonesian musicians like The Overtunes, Cindercella and Ben Sihombing. The morning had been a flurry of activity, with their production teams setting up the stage for the afternoon show, the committee arranging the games (both Avior and BBS Friendship Cup) and the players giving it their all on the last day.

As the games wrapped up, the basketball court was slowly filled to the brim with students, parents and staff. The excited buzz quickly died down as our principal, Mr. Richard, got on stage to express his utmost gratitude for everyone involved in the success of this year’s event, and to assure that they’ll strive to do better and achieve more next year. Once again, the crowd quickly blossomed with anticipation as Ben Sihombing and Cindercella started to perform to their songs “Hati” and “Best Part”. This was followed by The Overtunes’ “I Still Love You” and “Time Will Tell”.

Events such as the Avior Games provide the students with a wide platform to socialise and create new, diverse friendships as well as exercise sportsmanship. BBS KJS is not just keen on helping students to get high scores and remarkable titles; it also prioritises in building stronger relationships, teamwork and integrating other core values which will help students in the future.
