When We Pray Like Jesus | Luke 22:4

Tuesday: April 19:

JOHN 3:16

God loves you. You’ve probably heard that said a lot of times. But have you ever stopped to think about it?

Rather than just let this truth get ignored, take some time today to think about it. God loves you. You. He sees all your imperfections. He sees all your failures. God sees all the times you don’t deserve His love, and He chooses to love you anyway.

That truth is amazing. God loves you. No matter what you’ve done, no matter how you’ve messed up, no matter what’s happened to you, God loved you enough to send His son Jesus.

“For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. – John 3:16 (NLT)

He did this so that you could have eternal life. That’s good news. Eternal life isn’t just living forever, it’s knowing God. It’s being able to spend time with Him in His presence.

So as you approach the Easter season, don’t let the words, “God loves you” be something that you ignore. Realize that the love He had for you reached throughout time and was the driving force to send His Son to make us right with Him. Spend some time today thanking God for His great love for you!

Purpose Produces Perseverance | 2 Corinthians 4:16–17

Thursday: April 21

Remember that the LORD your God is the only God and that he is faithful. He will keep his covenant and show his constant love to a thousand generations of those who love him and obey his commands – Deuteronomy 7:9 (GNT)

God had a plan since the beginning of time. He knew that Jesus needed to come, take the penalty for sin and restore us back to righteousness with God. The thing about God’s plan is that it took time. It took generation after generation for God’s plan to unfold.

In our lives, it’s often easy to want to give up on God. Maybe you’ve prayed and asked God for something and it hasn’t come to pass yet in your life. In those times, it’s easy to want to give up on God.  While it’s true that it might take some time to see the things of God come to pass in your life, that doesn’t mean that God isn’t working.

God is always working. He often goes behind the scenes and is working when you can’t always see it. God is working to bring things to pass. He’s working in your situation and He knows the troubles and the fears you face. God is a faithful God. He has been constantly loving people since the beginning of time and isn’t going to stop now.

God is faithful. He’s working to bring good things to pass in your life.

You might not see the results that you want yet, but know that God is faithfully working. It takes faith and holding on to hope on our part to keep going when we don’t see results yet. We’ve got to have faith in the faithfulness of God. We’ve got to have faith and trust that the God who planned for years and years to send Jesus is working on our behalf. He’s bringing good things to pass in your life. Don’t give up and don’t get tired. Keep your faith in the faithfulness of God.

Friday: April 22

As we begin to approach Easter this Sunday, we can get a little excited. Maybe not super excited, like when we were little kids, but a little excited. You probably secretly enjoy getting some candy, or being with family and eating some good food to celebrate.

But Easter is a lot more than just some tasty candy stuffed into an easter basket. It’s really about love.

God had a plan from the beginning of time to send Jesus for us. Check out today’s verse.

For God saved us and called us to live a holy life. He did this, not because we deserved it, but because that was his plan from before the beginning of time—to show us his grace through Christ Jesus. – 2 Timothy 1:9 (NLT)

We didn’t deserve God’s love. Yet, He showed it to us in the greatest way possible, by sending His son Jesus to pay the price for our sin.

God planned this before the beginning of time because He loves us. He wants nothing more than a deep and fulfilling relationship with you. So in the midst of the tasty food and lots of candy this Easter, don’t forget that you didn’t deserve Jesus. But God loved you so much that He sent Jesus anyway.
