The partnership was signed by Mr Rico Usthavia Frans (Director of Digital Banking & Technology – Bank Mandiri) and Mr Surya Subandi (President Director of Bina Bangsa School).
Below is the press release for the event:
The letter “e” has in many ways impacted the 21st century and will continue to do so in years to come. When preceded with an “e”, words like learning, communication, news and money convey new meanings to us. We automatically associate them with technology, like computers and the Internet. In BBS, we believe the future is the e-way.
Our goal in all the six campuses of BBS is to move forward in the “e” direction. This is the primary reason why we started working on an integrated technological system or in short a Technological Ecosystem. We strongly believe that with such an ecosystem based on strong foundations and with an experienced partner like Bank Mandiri, BBS can eventually turn into a Smart School.
In the last academic year, we started with the e-learning initiative. We explored ways to utilize technology to enhance the students’ learning experience at every possible opportunity. In fact, we have also empowered our students to take the initiative to use this approach to enhance their learning and showcase their talents. Along the way, the students picked up good learning strategies and also the ethics of using technology. It has indeed opened a whole new world to them.
Another area which BBS has explored is the e-administration tool. This has proven to be an effective component in the ecosystem that we are building. Filling up forms for work orders and manually taking them to the administrative staff are things of the past. Now, thanks to the e-adminstration initiative, we are able to fill these needs from the comfort of our seats with a click of a few buttons.
For all of these to be truly effective, communication between the various stakeholders should also be at its best. For this, BBS started of the e-communication interface to facilitate two-way interaction between the teachers and the students. We are proud to announce a new addition to this component of our ecosystem, the Parent’s Portal, which allows parents and teachers to be in close communication. A mobile application was created for this very purpose.
Last but not least, is the new tool, e-transact, that had been developed by our partner, Bank Mandiri. This is a card that serves many functions including the logging of students’ attendance and making purchases. Mandiri has a long history in this field and are leaders in developing such wonderful card based systems for various establishments. BBS is very pleased to have engaged them in this area and look forward to working with them as partners as we continue to develop our Technological Ecosystem.
