The Ethereal Cup is a biennial competition amongst the schools in West Jakarta. This will be the seventh time BBS KJS is hosting it and it will be held from the 11th to the 23rd of September 2017.

We named the competition “Ethereal Cup” because we want to create a peaceful environment around the competition as the name would suggest. At the same time, we do not want to lose the competitive spirit of the participants. It is our aim to organize the event to be an enjoyable and memorable one for the students and staff in BBS, and the visitors from other schools.

Holding a school cup is common in Jakarta. Not only does it promote the school, it also showcases the ability of their student body to organize such event. There are schools which have been running their school cup for good length of time. Although the BBS Cup is one of the youngest in this aspect, we have become quite well-known all over West Jakarta. Our school teams have always been actively participating in other school cups and this has helped us gain experience on how to organize such events.

There are a number of activities lined up in this year’s Cup. For sports, there is Basketball, Futsal and Table Tennis and for the non-sports section, there is Debate, Choir, Short Movie, Chinese Poem Reciting, Mural and Photography. There will also be a Chess competition for enthusiasts. The activities are opened to boy and girls under the age of seventeen. Students are invited to participate under their school banners. We encourage as many students as possible from BBS KJS to participate in this competition.

The Cup will conclude on the 23rd September with a Fun Fair. Students of KJS will be selling accessories, food and drinks, and organize and manage games stalls. All the proceeds from the fun fair will be donated to charity.

This cup is a project undertaken by the students of BBS KJS. It will serve as a great learning platform for leadership, initiative and imagination. With the teacher advisors, we hope to manage this undertaking successfully and do BBS KJS proud.

We hope that this cup will be a fresh and fun experience for everyone who is participating, supporting or attending the event. It will excellent opportunity to demonstrate our school values of Compassion, Inspiring, Dedication, Passion, Integrity and Teamwork. We also hope there will be healthy competition between schools and the observance of sportsmanship. In addition, the students take this opportunity to make new friends, create precious memories and cherish the experience.
