The Media and Communications Workshop was a two-session program aimed at improving students’ photography and visual communication skills. Held on 13 October 2025 and 20 October 2025, the workshop brought together members of the Student Council Media and Communications Department along with representatives from each of the other departments to learn how visual media can be used more effectively for school documentation.
The workshop was organized by the Student Council Media and Communications Department and focused on introducing participants to essential photography techniques. Throughout the sessions, students learned about the rule of thirds, eye-level framing, and the use of different camera angles to create more balanced and engaging photographs. The workshop also covered basic camera adjustment settings such as brightness and contrast, helping participants understand how simple technical changes can improve the overall quality of an image.
One of the highlights of the workshop was the hands-on practice activity. Participants were asked to take photographs of a subject while applying various techniques, including proper composition and headroom. This practical session allowed students to experiment with different approaches and directly apply what they had learned, reinforcing their understanding of effective visual storytelling.
Overall, the Media and Communications Workshop was a valuable learning experience as it strengthened the students’ ability to capture clear and meaningful photographs. The skills gained from the workshop would support better media coverage of future school events and contribute to a more professional and consistent Student Council documentation.
