Proverbs 22:6 states: “Train up a child the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.” This meaningful verse from the Bible reminds us all that no matter how old we are, there is always a child in us.

BBS PIK held one of the most exciting and fun-filled celebrations to honour their children, who would be the future generation, during the Children’s Day Celebration 2019 with the theme “Wild about Caring the Animals” last Monday, 30 September 2019. A well planned and organised programme spearheaded by Ms Faith and hosted by

Mr Jerick and Ms Aileen, highlighted an array of talents in singing, dancing, acting and playing ensemble which were showcased by the talented teachers from every department of BBS-PIKP. The presentations captivated the holistic interests of the Primary students and brought forth, deep-felt inspiration to see their teachers perform on stage.  Those who were present beamed with pride in the special performances which they had witnessed.

One of the heartwarming parts of the programme was the turning over of the monetary donation from the generous hearts to the JAAN founder, Ms Natalie Stewart, for the benefit of animals which are on the brink of becoming an endangered species. Ms Natalie was very grateful to receive the amount of Rp.35,000,000 for the foundation. More blessings are to the ones who took part in this noble cause. The presence of two mascots also added a thrilling sight to the programme. The children were highly excited to meet, shake hands and click photographs with them.

The children really enjoyed exploring the colourful and gigantic-sized trampoline and fun games, both indoor and outdoor. They were all drenched with sweat after engaging themselves with insatiable turning, swirling and running around in the Greenfield area.

There were long queues of pupils who were desirable of participating in Chinese paper folding, cooking dumpling and calligraphy activities. These activities were facilitated by Mandarin teachers. There was also a display of the different educational outputs from other BBS branches in Indonesia in the form of pictures, art and craftwork. The students were given passports that were stamped when they participated in the activity. The accumulation of points was their output for Mandarin subject.

The celebration culminated with a gustatory development at the canteen wherein everyone had the chance to socialise while enjoying the scrumptious variety of food.

Indeed, the Children’s Day Celebration 2019 will forever be embedded in the hearts and minds of the children even when they leave the portals of their Alma Mater.
