“Success is not final; failure is not fatal. It is the courage to continue that counts.” – Winston S. Churchill
I chose this phrase because it is true the failure is not fatal. What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. When we fail, it is a chance for us to learn from our mistakes and take advantage of that failure, pick up and attain enough courage to try again. After success, it would not mean the trials of life are over. Life finds a way to always offer obstacles in our lives and it is our job as humans to overcome them, fail, try again and succeed. Therefore, not being afraid to try again or making the same mistakes. It is true that it may be difficult to retry as we have experienced the harsh realities of failure, however, that failure is worth the success you strive for. So, work hard and never give up.

The quote I have decided to select is ‘Some people dream of success while others wake up and work for it’ by Wayne Huizenga. You may ask, out of the many many quotes I can pick, what makes this one so special? The reason is quite simple and nothing extravagant, it is simply really relatable, I think I’ve been following this for years now.
First of all, let me clarify something. Everyone’s definition of success is different. In fact, everyone’s success is different in the sense that one may be successful financially, one may be academically or one may be achieving their purpose in life. But, one thing all these definitions of success share is the fact that they will only work if we take our first step.
Now, a lot of people tend to be imaginative, they want to achieve something or be like someone but it is only merely spoken words. There is literally no action taken. For instance, one may have the will to be the top in class, yet, all they did during classes was sleep and play with the idea that they’d miraculously surpass people who work for their academic success. How can this happen? I genuinely have no idea, if you do, please tell me.
Well, an explanation as to why people tend to dream success in the sense that they wait for it to come to them instead of them pushing themselves to reach these, can be destiny. Loads of people believe in this, ‘let god help me, god will give me success, let god do the rest, we shall just wait patiently’ but I think they zoned out on the part where, yes, God helps us and that we should always believe in him but we shall always do the very best too. We shall prove that we are worthy. I always remember this principle, ‘do your best and let god do the rest’ I believe that this is related to the quote above.
Successful people in this world, dead or alive, no matter what this ‘success’ is to them, shed blood, sweat and tears to get to the stage where they are in. There is no way, NO WAY I REPEAT, in which they can just simply laze around and dream of this, expecting to magically achieve these.
Some great and successful people in this world have worked literally from the very bottom. They work tremendously hard, spent sleepless nights just to enhance their skills. It doesn’t happen in a blink of an eye too!! It takes YEARS of pain for these sweet outcomes.
You see, everyone has potential to do whatever they can, but not all use it to their advantage. As the quote said, some people dream of success while others work for it. This woke me up and it felt like a slap to the face, ‘how can I expect to achieve what I want if all I did was sit and mourn for my misery of watching others achieve something they have invested all their lives in at the stage/age I am in?’ I realise that if I want to be successful, like the many, many great people out there, I need to wake u. Sitting here won’t do anything, even God won’t help. God believes in hard work, effort and that we have potential and capability. If I start to wake up and do something to advance towards these goals, I’ll be one step closer, won’t I?
Therefore, from this quote, we can all very much see how such simple words gave out a huge impact. It’s meaning is deep, very deep in fact. It gave a true reflection on ourselves. Maybe the issue as to why we can’t be as successful as someone with similar upbringing or similar age is not because we do not have what it takes, we are less academically blessed or if we are worse.
It’s either the fact we don’t work hard enough for it or it simply is not our path. At least by taking these baby steps towards success, we are amounting to something. Putting our heart and soul into something in which we would truly dedicate ourselves to, will always bring a fruitful result. Maybe not instantly, but it will happen. The outcome will never betray it’s efforts and only time will prove it. Everything will be beautiful when the time comes.
Article 3: by Kimberly Joudan JC 2 Forbes
The most inspiring quote is ‘Success is not final; failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continues that counts’. This quote tells me that it is ok to fail as being successful is not always going to happen. Like me, I have thought of giving up because of failure. I was depressed and weak, thinking whether I could really do it. But then again, we can’t become successful without the determination or courage to work harder and move on from our failure. Everything we do takes hard work to become successful.
