Prefect Investiture 2019-2020

Prefects Investiture – Leaders instill in their people a hope for success and a belief in themselves. Positive leaders empower people to accomplish their goals.

PREFECT ACTIVITIES

Every year, around 30 pupils are elected to be prefects in BBS PIK Primary. The appointment to the position of Prefect is an honor accorded to a student by the school community. It is an office which carries specific responsibilities including these 3 main areas:

  • The Prefects as a Positive Role Model for other students
  • The Prefects as a Student Leader
  • The Prefects as an Ambassador for the school

Prefects are students who endeavor to be positive role models and provide leadership to the school. They represent the school and provide assistance at a number of functions.

Friday, 9th August 2019: All Prefects candidates will attend a personal interview with the Discipline Committee. After all the interviews have taken place, the Prefect Committee will select to become official Prefects for this academic year.

During the interview the nominees were asked to answer a series of short questions. This is to look at on their spot responses and thinking. This includes a short-written response on one of the questions below (no more than one minute) to present at the interview.

  1. If you could suggest a new activity for our school, what would it be and why?
  2. Are leaders born? or leaders made?
  3. If you could tell Ms Lina anything at all, what would it be and why?

6th and 13th September 2019: In-line with the Prefects Program of the school, the newly elected Prefects this year had joined for Prefects’ Meeting and Training. They were having the First Prefect Meeting to discuss about housekeeping matters and program updates, and First Aid Training (Dressing and Bandaging).

31th August 2019: Prefects Leadership Course

In this course, the elected Prefects had leadership talks, team building activities and plenary sessions to prepare them for the challenges  of being a prefect. The school strongly believe that they are leaders in a making!
